70s rock legend, Aerosmith, bids their sweet adieu to fans following Steven Tyler's devastating vocal injury in 2023.

In a statement on Friday, the band shared that they are canceling the remainder of their farewell tour, 'Peace Out', as lead vocalist Steven Tyler struggles to fully recover from the vocal injury he sustained. The band added that a full recovery was not possible, despite having the best medical team by his side.

"We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury," they said in a statement.

The tour was postponed in 2023 after only completing three shows, as Tyler was advised not to sing for a while after suffering from vocal chord damage.

The remaining dates were pushed a year to give way for his recovery. However, the band decided to officially retire from touring, putting Tyler's health first.

"We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage," the band wrote.

They thanked everyone who had been a part of their historic runs in the rock and roll scene, from beginning to end. It has been a great honor, as they phrased, to have their music become a part of the soundtrack of people's lives—both private and grand. The band also gave a final thank you to their supporters, describing them as the best fans on planet Earth.

"Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You’ve made our dreams come true," Aerosmith concluded.

Fans who purchased tickets to canceled shows through Ticketmaster will automatically get a refund. While those who bought via third-party resale sites must reach out to their points of purchase.

Aerosmith is composed of vocalist Steven Tyler, guitarists Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford, and drummer Joey Kramer. They have four Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame in 2001.
