Hollywood actor Julian McMahon dies at 56

Julian McMahon, the actor widely recognized for roles in “Nip/Tuck”, “Fantastic Four”, and “Charmed, FBI: Most Wanted”, passed away after battling cancer. He was 56.

“With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” the Hollywood actor’s wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed his passing in a statement to Deadline on Friday, July 4.

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible,” it added.

“We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories,” it continued.

U.S. Media reports that McMahon is survived by his daughter, Madison, and wife, Kelly.

The cancer diagnosis was not made public prior to the actor’s passing.

McMahon began his career as a model and eventually transitioned to acting with a lead role on the Australian daytime soap “The Power, the Passion.” He had a few more acting stints in Australia before moving to Hollywood.

His role in the 2003 drama “Nip/Tuck” earned him a Golden Globe Nomination. A few years later, he was cast as Doctor Doom in “Fantastic Four” and its sequel, “Rise of the Silver Surfer.”
