The Philippines concluded its campaign at the 5th Asian Para Games with seven medals, including two golds, two silvers and three bronzes, highlighted by strong performances in para swimming, para athletics and para table tennis.

Para swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Ariel Joseph Alegarbes led the country's gold-medal haul, while Filipino athletes also secured podium finishes in athletics and table tennis.

Gawilan captured gold in the men's 400-meter freestyle S7 and added a silver in the men's 200-meter individual medley SM7. Alegarbes claimed the Philippines' other gold medal in the men's 100-meter backstroke S14.

Raemond Adefuin contributed a bronze medal in the men's 100-meter breaststroke SB6 to complete the country's four-medal haul in para swimming.

In para athletics, King James Reyes earned bronze in the men's 1,500-meter T46, while Ma Ravinia Carpena secured another bronze in the women's shot put F20.

The Philippines' second silver medal came from the para table tennis mixed doubles Class XD17 event, where Wilfred Redulla and Lhey Manginsay reached the podium.

Team Philippines attended the closing ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 25, at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The delegation was joined by Chef de Mission Kiko Diaz and Philippine Paralympic Committee Secretary-General Goody Custodio II.
