Sen. Robin Padilla laughed and thanked his supporters after one of them described him as a “nag-iisang bobo na gwapo” while defending him against criticism.

Sherifa Mastura, chairperson of the Sultan Kudarat Descendants Organization of the Philippines, said Padilla is kind and helpful despite being called “foolish” by some of his critics.

“Siya po ay mabait, matulungin, ang nag-iisang bobo na gwapo. Anuman ang gawin niyo, inggit lang kayo kaya nandito kami upang suportahan and protect Senator Robinhood Padilla,” Mastura said.

Padilla responded by laughing at the remark and saying, “Maraming salamat po!”

His supporters earlier went to the Department of Justice to rally and show their support for the senator. They said criticism would not stop them from backing Padilla.

Padilla is facing a preliminary investigation at the DOJ over an obstruction of justice complaint filed in connection with the departure of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa from the Senate in May 2026.

He arrived at the DOJ this afternoon to file his counter-affidavit in the obstruction of justice case filed against him by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).
