Sen. Robin Padilla said he was “excited” as he arrived at the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday, Sept. 25, to file his counter-affidavit in the obstruction of justice case filed against him by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).

Padilla thanked his supporters, including members of the Muslim and Christian communities, who went to the DOJ to show their support as he appeared for the preliminary investigation.

“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga kapatid na Muslim, mga kapatid na Kristiyano na nagpunta dito at nagbigay ng suporta sa akin,” Padilla said.

“Nandito tayo para i-file namin ang counter affidavit namin kasama ko po yung mga abogado ko. Okay po [ako]. Excited, excited,” he added.

The PNP-CIDG accused Padilla of helping Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa leave the Senate building on May 14, 2026.

Padilla’s supporters arrived at the DOJ to rally and express their support, saying they were ready to protect the senator.
