Matty Juniosa finished in fourth place in the grand finale of “Britain’s Got Talent“ Season 19, capping off a standout run that included two Golden Buzzer moments and a widely praised series of performances.

In the live grand final held on Saturday (UK time), Juniosa performed a powerful rendition of Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U.”

In the end, the competition was won by the Hawkstone Farmers Choir, followed by drone art collective Celestial in second place, and dance duo Anastasiia and Salsa in third.

Juniosa emerged as one of the season’s most notable contestants after earning two Golden Buzzers during the competition.

At his audition, he impressed with a performance of Prince’s “Purple Rain,” which earned him a Golden Buzzer from judge Simon Cowell, sending him directly to the semifinals.

He later secured a second Golden Buzzer in the semifinals from judge Amanda Holden after performing Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” ensuring his place in the final round.

Born in Mandaluyong City, Juniosa first rose to prominence as a contestant on Idol Philippines in 2019 before joining the vocal trio "iDolls." He later moved to Scotland in 2022 to study musical theater at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he went on to perform in stage productions including Kinky Boots.

Following the finale, Juniosa reflected on his journey in a social media post, emphasizing that his experience on the show marks only the "beginning" of his career.

“This doesn't end here, y'all. This is just the beginning. And also, we ended up fourth, which means I get to say this. May the fourth be with you,” he said.

"Hey everyone, just catching up post #BGTLiveFinals and wanted to say some few words of gratitude. I am so proud to have represented Philippines 🇵🇭 and Glasgow 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 in a show I grew up watching and one of the biggest stages in the world. I genuinely can’t believe I just met people I used to think were probably matrix simulations but now are actual contributors to the journey of this life I’m living," he wrote in the caption.

Juniosa thanked those who supported his BGT journey.

“So I just wanted to say thank you to everybody who has shown me support throughout this journey from the auditions to the semifinals and to the finals. It has been such the time of my life. It has been such a wonderful experience and I'm so grateful for everyone who has supported me throughout,” he said.

“I would never forget this time of my life and I will never forget this period of my life. And I am so, so, so thankful that I have reached the people all over the world that I needed to reach. And this is just the beginning. We've got plans coming through very, very soon, which I can't wait to reveal to all of you,” he added.

He also confirmed his upcoming involvement in the rock opera production Jesus Christ Superstar at the London Palladium later this year, where he will join the cast of the acclaimed West End staging of the show.
