Filipino singer Matty Juniosa has secured a coveted spot in the finals of Britain’s Got Talent Season 19 after earning his second Golden Buzzer, this time for his powerful performance of Dream On by Aerosmith.
During the April 25 broadcast (April 26 in the Philippines), Juniosa delivered a soaring rendition of the rock classic that drew a standing ovation from both the audience and judges.
His performance showcased his remarkable vocal control and signature high notes, ultimately prompting judge Amanda Holden to press the Golden Buzzer amid chants from the crowd.
Judge Alesha Dixon praised the Filipino performer, calling his act “effortlessly sensational” and a “masterclass performance,” highlighting his smooth delivery and powerful vocal range.
Meanwhile, head judge Simon Cowell commended Juniosa’s “incredible” range and “sweet” personality, noting that earning two Golden Buzzers is a rare feat in the competition.
The Golden Buzzer automatically sends contestants straight to the finals, bypassing further elimination rounds. In the final stage, winners are determined through a combination of judges’ scores and public votes.
This marks Juniosa’s second Golden Buzzer this season—his first came during auditions when Cowell pressed the buzzer after his performance of Purple Rain by Prince, instantly making him one of the standout acts of the competition.
Before his international breakthrough, Juniosa gained recognition in the Philippines after finishing in the Top 12 of Idol Philippines Season 1. He later became part of the trio iDolls alongside Enzo Almario and Lucas Garcia in 2019, a group formed from the show’s finalists that eventually disbanded in 2022.
Juniosa’s journey on the global stage highlights the growing presence of Filipino talent in international competitions, with his back-to-back Golden Buzzer wins positioning him as a strong contender for the Britain’s Got Talent Season 19 title.
