Alexandra “Alex” Eala moved up to a career-high No. 88 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) doubles rankings on Monday, while also improving to No. 42 in the singles standings after another strong stretch on tour.

Eala collected 120 ranking points for a total of 888, jumping 13 places from No. 101 two weeks earlier and surpassing her previous best of No. 99 in doubles.

The 20-year-old competed in the Madrid doubles event alongside Turkish partner Zeynep Sönmez, where they reached the second round.

Her latest rise in the rankings comes ahead of the WTA 1000 Italian Open in Rome, set for May 5 to 17, where she is expected to compete as part of her clay-court campaign.

After Rome, Eala is scheduled to play in the qualifying rounds of the WTA 500 Strasbourg Grand Prix Open from May 17 to 23. She turns 21 on May 23.

She is also listed to make her second appearance at Roland Garros, which runs from May 24 to June 7, as she continues to improve her position in both singles and doubles.
