Ateneo de Manila University President Fr. Roberto “Bobby” Yap’s lawyers appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Friday.
In a report by RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort, their appearance is in compliance with a subpoena duces tecum issued earlier by the NBI - Homicide Division. The subpoena, apart from an appearance, orders the submission of records and other documents relevant to the investigation into the deaths of student-athletes Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.
Yap himself was unable to appear before the bureau due to a graduation ceremony he needed to attend.
Yap’s two lawyers paid a courtesy call at the NBI Office, informing them that Yap will be submitting the documents next week.
Menawhile, resigned Ateneo Blue Eagles Coach Thomas Anthony “Tab” Baldwin is set to appear before the NBI next week.
He was initially slated to appear on Friday morning, but he is currently with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for a separate investigation.
