Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala has climbed back to world No. 30 in the latest WTA rankings, moving up from No. 35 after her semifinal finish at the Berlin Open and earning a seeded spot at Wimbledon.

The 21-year-old previously reached a career-high ranking of No. 29, and her latest surge places her just outside that personal best as she continues a strong grass-court season.

Eala is projected to be seeded 29th at Wimbledon Championships, which runs June 29 to July 5, 2026, making her the first player from the Philippines to enter a Grand Slam main draw as a seeded competitor.

Her ranking boost follows a breakout run at the Berlin Open, where she reached the semifinals before losing to world No. 10 Linda Noskova, 6-2, 6-4.

Eala is also competing this week at the Bad Homburg Open, where she is set to face world No. 4 Elise Mertens in the Round of 32 on Monday (PH time).

She is also scheduled to partner with American tennis legend Venus Williams in women’s doubles in Bad Homburg later this week, marking their first tournament pairing.
