Philippine tennis standout Alexandra Eala is reportedly set to team up with seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams in the doubles event of the Bad Homburg Open, adding another high-profile chapter to her growing career on the WTA Tour.

According to a report by Tennis Channel, Williams has entered the grass-court tournament in Germany with Eala ahead of Wimbledon, marking a notable pairing between one of the sport’s all-time greats and one of its rising young talents.

Williams, 44, had initially been slated to play doubles with Hailey Baptiste in a previous event, but was unable to compete after Baptiste suffered a knee injury. The former world No. 1 remains active on tour, particularly in doubles, as she continues to draw fan interest more than two decades after her peak years.

The reported partnership with Eala comes as both players prepare for the grass-court swing, with Wimbledon looming later this month. Tournament organizers are expected to grant wild cards to marquee names, making the Williams-Eala tandem a compelling addition both competitively and commercially.

Meanwhile, attention also surrounds Venus’ younger sister, Serena Williams, who has also entered doubles events in the lead-up to Wimbledon, including appearances at Queen’s Club and Berlin.

Questions remain whether the Williams sisters could reunite on court, where they previously captured multiple Grand Slam doubles titles together.

Eala, 20, begins her grass-court campaign this week at the WTA 125 Birmingham Open. She is scheduled to compete in doubles on Monday, June 1 (PH Time) alongside Nikola Bartunkova against the British pair Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden.

In singles, Eala enters Birmingham as the top seed and will face Priscilla Hon in the opening round.

The potential pairing with Venus Williams signals a significant milestone for Eala, who continues to gain exposure on the international stage as one of the most famous netters in the modern arena.
