Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Johanna Datul congratulated Katrina Llegado after the Filipina beauty queen captured the Miss Supranational 2026 crown.
In an Instagram post, Datul, who made history as the Philippines’ first Miss Supranational winner in 2013, celebrated Llegado’s victory, ending the Philippines’ 13-year title drought in the international pageant.
“Congratulations to the newly crowned Miss Supranational 2026! @katllegado,” Datul wrote.
Reflecting on her own journey as the second Filipina to win the Miss Supranational title, Datul said Llegado’s achievement brought back cherished memories of her own reign.
“Watching another queen begin this incredible journey brings back so many unforgettable memories. As the 2nd Miss Supranational, I’m excited to see you write your own story and inspire the world,” she said.
“Welcome to the sisterhood,” Datul added.
Datul won the Miss Supranational 2013 crown in Belarus, becoming the first Filipina to achieve the feat. Since her historic victory, several Philippine representatives have competed for the title but failed to reclaim the crown until Llegado’s triumph.
Llegado was crowned Miss Supranational 2026 during the pageant’s coronation night held in Poland on August 1 at 2 a.m. (PH time), securing the country’s second Miss Supranational title.
During the final question-and-answer round, Llegado was asked: “Please tell us the moment you stopped trying to become the woman the world expected and started becoming the woman you’re really meant to be.”
The Filipina beauty queen answered that she learned to embrace individuality and self-growth rather than conforming to expectations.
“I always believe that we should never fit into a mold. We are perfectly imperfect. I am someone who struggles with perfection, but I’m here today doing my best and becoming the best version of myself. And here in Miss Supranational, I know there is a place for me, and this is becoming Supra—above and beyond,” Llegado said.
