Vice President Sara Duterte criticized the Marcos administration for its alleged failure to ensure the safety of Filipinos after the third shooting incident in the country.

In an online statement on Monday, Duterte addressed the shooting at Banga National High School in South Cotabato on September 18, emphasizing that it demonstrates the persistent threat of violence in schools.

“Patunay ito na ang ganitong uri ng karahasan ay isang mapait na katotohanan na maaaring mangyari sa mga paaralan ng ating mga anak sa anumang oras.”

She expressed that prioritizing political consolidation over fundamental governance under the Marcos’ leadership, compromises the protection of children.

“The Marcos administration has failed the victims and survivors of the South Cotabato tragedy. Countless more Filipino children remain at risk of becoming casualties of this government's incompetence and neglect.”

The Vice President also stated that better leadership is needed to protect children and prevent such incidents.
