

Three students have died and seven others were injured following the shooting incident at Banga National High School, according to the latest casualty and medical status update from the Banga Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) as of 8 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026.
The MDRRMO’s 5 p.m. progress report confirmed that three students were dead on arrival at three separate hospitals. One was brought to South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, another to Dantom Hospital, and the third to SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital.
Seven other students were initially reported injured. Two were brought to SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital, four to South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, and one to Dantom Hospital, who was subsequently referred to Pingoy Hospital.
As of 8 p.m., the MDRRMO reported that three of the injured students had already been discharged and sent home. Two were discharged from South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, while one was discharged from SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital.
The remaining injured students have been referred to other medical facilities for further treatment. One patient from SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital was referred to Cotabato Regional Medical Center, while two patients from South Cotabato Provincial Hospital were referred to Socomedics Hospital in Koronadal City.
Another injured student remains at Pingoy Hospital.
The latest update means that, of the seven students initially reported injured, three have been discharged while four remain under medical care or have been referred to other hospitals.
The Banga MDRRMO urged the public to exercise caution in sharing information about the incident, particularly as authorities continue to verify reports and casualty figures.
“Spreading unverified reports, especially during emergency incidents, may cause panic, confusion, and fear in our community,” the MDRRMO said.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting at the said school.
