Vice President Sara Duterte expressed fear for her life as she arrived at the Quezon City Hall of Justice on Saturday, September 5, a day after the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) issued an arrest warrant against her in connection with a grave threats case, RH Henry Uri reported.

Before Duterte arrived, Atty. Michael Poa and Atty. Lawrence Lim arrived at the QC RTC.

In a statement, the vice president said that she has documented threats and harassment since 2023.

“I fear for my children. I do not feel they are safe if I am with them,” Duterte expressed.

“Umalis na nga ako kung nasaan mga anak ko para pumunta sa korte pero pumunta pa rin ang pulis,” she added. “I do not feel safe. Pakiramdam ko papatayin nila ako.”

On Friday, the QC RTC Branch 98 issued an arrest warrant against the vice president over three counts of alleged grave threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Duterte arrived Saturday morning to post bail. The QC RTC set bail at ₱120,000 for the three counts.

In an ambush interview, Poa confirmed that Duterte had surrendered.

This is a developing story.
