Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto expressed support for ongoing investigations into alleged corruption cases, saying more arrests are expected as authorities continue to pursue individuals linked to the controversial flood control scandal.

In a Facebook post following the arrest of Curlee Discaya, Sotto said recent developments show progress in uncovering the scale of alleged irregularities, which he noted were previously not widely known.

“Sana mas marami pa ang makulong,” Sotto wrote, adding that while the situation can be discouraging, he considers the recent enforcement actions a sign of progress.

“Minsan nakakadismaya na ang mga nangyayari sa ating bansa; iniisip ko na lang na ‘at least’ kahit papaano, may progreso. Just 1 year ago, most of us didn’t even know the level of corruption going on,” he said.

He also cited the arrest of Curlee Discaya, alongside earlier cases involving other individuals, as part of broader accountability efforts linked to the alleged flood control anomaly.

“Bukod kay [Martin] Romualdez at Zaldy [Co], maaaring ang mga Discaya na ang may pinakamalaking nakubra sa Flood Control Scandal,” Sotto added.

The mayor emphasized that the issue goes beyond a single sector, warning that systemic corruption continues to exploit weaknesses in governance.

“This is just one example of how evil minds can exploit our broken system,” he said, urging sustained public vigilance.

“Tomorrow, the same things will happen again, unless we continue to fight and de-normalize corruption,” Sotto added.

He called on the public to remain informed and engaged in holding officials accountable, stressing the importance of critical thinking and civic pressure to prevent repeated abuses in government systems.
