Curlee Discaya was arrested and transferred to the custody of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group from the Senate of the Philippines on Monday, June 8.
Personnel of the PNP-CIDG went to the Senate to complete Discaya’s booking procedures before he was taken into police custody for further legal processing.
He is scheduled to be brought to the Malolos Regional Trial Court, where the court will determine the next steps in his detention.
The transfer marks the end of Discaya’s nearly nine-month detention at the Senate following a contempt citation tied to allegedly inconsistent statements during a Blue Ribbon Committee inquiry in September 2025 into alleged anomalous public works projects.
The case stems from a non-bailable malversation complaint filed by the Office of the Ombudsman.
Investigators earlier found that payments for a P53.9-million flood control project in Calumpit, Bulacan were released despite the absence of an approved disbursement voucher, according to initial findings.
