Former Senator Antonio Trillanes came to the Senate to serve Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa the rumored International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant of arrest, he claimed on Monday afternoon.
Moreover, Trillanes said dela Rosa told him he would be the one to put him in handcuffs if he had an arrest warrant.
“Sabi ni Bato, sasamahan ko daw siya e. Ako daw [ang] magpoposas sa kanya. Kaya inaantay ko siya,” Trillanes told the media, confirming the warrant was issued by the ICC.
“Titingnan natin 'yung tapang niya,” he added.
This comes amid renewed talks of an arrest warrant for dela Rosa in connection with his alleged role in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s War on Drugs as chief of the national police.
Earlier, the Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) also issued a subpoena for dela Rosa regarding the drug war allegations against him, in order to begin a proper investigation independent of the Hague Court.
This is a developing story.
