Three suspects linked to the abduction and killing of a former vice mayor in Leyte and his son surrendered to authorities late Tuesday, the Philippine National Police said.
The PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) said the suspects gave themselves up at around 9 p.m. on June 30 in Pasay City following negotiations between operatives and their families.
The suspects were identified as Kim Taboy Solayao, 27; Reniel Galza, 24; and Mark James Generales Taboy, 30, all residents of Amandayehan, Basey, Samar.
Police said the three were implicated in the abduction and killing of former Mayorga, Leyte Vice Mayor James Bohol and his son, Carlou James Bohol.
Authorities said the victims were abducted in Mayorga, Leyte. Their bodies were later found dumped in a ravine in Barangay Imelda, Silago, Southern Leyte.
The suspects are now under the custody of the PNP-AKG after undergoing physical examination at a police facility. They will be processed before being turned over to the Police Regional Office 8 for further investigation and filing of appropriate charges.
The operation was conducted jointly by the AKG, Police Regional Office 8, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
