Bulacan 6th District Rep. Salvador Pleyto seeks to extend further assistance to the bereaved families of the five rescuers who died amidst the onslaught of Super Typhoon Karding.
"Alam ko tutulong talaga ang Senate, at House (of Representatives) para mabigyan ng ayuda itong pamilya," Pleyto said on Tuesday, September 27, during DZRH's Magandang Umaga Pilipinas.
"Siguro mga scholarship program para sa mga anak. Marami pa tayong maaring maitulong para sa kanila na manggagaling sa national government," he added.
George Agustin, Troy Justin Agustin, Marby Bartolome, Jerson Resurreccion, and Narciso Calayag perished while conducting rescue operations in San Miguel, Bulacan.
Pleyto filed a resolution that honors the heroism and bravery of the five rescuers of the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
House Resolution No. 414 also condoles with the families of the five rescuers.
"(T)he heroism and bravery showed by the five PDRRMO rescue personnel in the performance of their duty is an admirable act worthy of praise and commendation," the resolution reads.
Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando assured that the benefits of the rescuers will go to their families, who will also receive financial assistance.
