Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr. is pushing for amendments to the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006 following the shooting at Ateneo de Zamboanga University that left two minors dead.
The house lawmaker said it is time to revisit the law, citing the need to strengthen measures concerning minors involved in serious crimes.
Garbin filed a bill with fellow Ako Bicol Rep. Jan Chan following a shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban in June, months before the August 18 incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
