The Vargas couple stood their ground once more, announcing that 20 counts of cyber libel have been filed against Roby Sy.

“For those who know me, you would understand that I am naturally shy and reserved, and not someone who looks for conflict. We tried to handle this quietly and peacefully—para sa kapakanan ng aming mga anak, na dumaan na sa matinding sakit at trauma,” Yasmine Vargas said in a statement on Monday, April 20.

“But there comes a point when silence is no longer an option. Bilang isang ina, hindi ko po kayang manahimik habang patuloy na nasasaktan ang aking anak at pamilya,” she added.

According to Yasmine, her family has been in the spotlight since they made the “difficult decision” to stand up for their son. Despite this, she remains grateful to those who support them and ask sincere questions to understand the situation better.

She said they did not intend to argue with the other party when they decided to speak out against the bullying their son is experiencing. Rather, it was done out of love for their son and to stand up for those experiencing bullying.

“Nalulungkot po ako na umabot pa sa ganito. Sinubukan naming idaan sa maayos na pag-uusap noong Pebrero, ngunit sa halip, nagpatuloy ang mga posts sa social media na naglalaman ng maling paratang laban sa akin, sa aking asawa, at sa aming pamilya—even after we chose to remain silent,” Yasmine wrote. “Hindi na po ito maaaring magpatuloy.”

Yasmine stood firm that the social media posts by Sy are false and are meant to damage their name and reputation. Moreover, she said that filing the case had a process, stating they presented the required evidence.

“Tiwala po kami na lalabas ang katotohanan,” she said.

The couple urged the public to choose kindness, adding that “bullying, in any form, has no place in our community.”

Last week, Sy denied the allegations linking him and his partner to a bullying incident involving their child. He emphasized that he and his family are not responsible for the accusations, stating details will be revealed “at the right time, place, and forum.”
