P-pop powerhouses SB19 and BINI are taking another leap onto the global stage after submitting their entries for the 2027 Grammys.
In a social media post on Tuesday, October 13, the P-Pop Kings announced that they have submitted “VISA” for Best Asian Pop Music Performance and “LAWLESS” for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
“From the Philippines to the world, thank you for believing in SB19. Let's continue to champion Filipino music and bring it to the global stage!” SB19 wrote in its caption.
SB19's submission follows their Lollapalooza performance in July this year, making history as the first Filipino and all-Filipino act to grace the music festival's stage. The group was recently recognized by the Senate, through Resolution No. 545 filed and sponsored by Senator Bam Aquino, commending the members for elevating Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and boosting the country's creative industry on the global stage.
Meanwhile, the Nation's Girl Group have also submitted for three categories, namely: Best New Artist, Best New Song Written for Visual Media for “A Parallel World”, and Asian Pop Music Performance for “Unang Kilig.”
“Let's keep supporting BINI, and Filipino music and talent as we take our step to the global stage,” Star Music Philippines wrote.
Earlier this year, BINI delivered a show-stopping performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, making yet another historical feat as the first Filipino act to perform.
The girl group was formally recognized by the Senate, through the adoption of Senate Resolution No. 370, authored by Aquino.
The Best Asian Pop Music Performance category was recently added by the Recording Academy, set to debut at the 69th annual Grammys in February 2027. Music submitted for the category must feature meaningful use of one or more Asian languages.
K-Pop group BTS previously announced that they will not be submitting their music and latest album, Arirang, to protest the added category, arguing that music should not be segregated by language or region.
Subsequently, Stray Kids followed suit, opting out of Grammy submissions.
Both groups have only submitted entries for nominations and are not yet part of the official Grammy nominations.
Each entry will be individually and manually vetted by a member of the Recording Academy staff to determine eligibility.
The official nominees for the 69th Grammy Awards will be announced on November 16.
