Robredo: Bayanihan E-Konsulta assisted over 58,000 cases before closure
by John Dexter Tilo01 June 2022

On the last day of Bayanihan E-Konsulta, outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo revealed that the initiative attended to over 58,000 COVID and non-COVID cases since it was launched in 2021.

"Since we launched the program in April 2021, we have assisted more than 58,000 cases — both COVID and non-COVID patients," said Robredo in a statement on Tuesday.

"This was made possible by volunteers, including 947 doctors and 1,761 call/chat agents," she added.

Robredo extended her gratitude to those who volunteered for the program, which was one of the initiatives launched by the Office of the President (OVP) at the height of the pandemic.

"Lubos ang aking pasasalamat sa lahat ng nakasama natin: sa ating volunteer doctors, call/chat agents, EMS teams, and to my OVP family," she said.

(I am extremely grateful to all who have been with us: to our volunteer doctors, call/chat agents, EMS teams, and to my OVP family.)

"At sa lahat ng mga kababayan na ating natulungan sa Bayanihan E-Konsulta, malaking karangalan po para sa amin na kayo ay mapaglingkuran."

(And to all our countrymen helped by Bayanihan E-Konsulta, it is an honor for us to serve you.)

Among the volunteers in the teleconsultation program was Robredo's daughter, Tricia, who called it a privilege to be a part of.

"What privilege it has been to be a part of this. I wouldn't be the physician I am today without it," said Tricia. "I am humbled and immensely grateful."

The Bayanihan E-Konsulta was the free teleconsultation service from the OVP that was launched over Facebook and Messenger. It aimed to extend aid to those who cannot afford access to medical services and other teleconsultation platforms.
