The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) said it is reviewing the implications of its suspension by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) following alleged governance issues and possible violations of the global body’s Code of Ethics.

In a statement, the PNVF confirmed it received formal communication from the FIVB dated May 29, 2026, and is currently consulting with advisers and stakeholders to assess the situation.

“The Federation acknowledges receipt of the FIVB communication dated 29 May 2026 and is carefully reviewing its implications with the appropriate advisers and stakeholders,” the PNVF said.

The federation emphasized that its immediate priority is to support Filipino athletes, safeguard the country’s participation in international competitions, and ensure continuity in the sport’s development.

The PNVF also expressed its willingness to cooperate with governing bodies, including the FIVB, Philippine Sports Commission, and Philippine Olympic Committee, as it seeks clarity on the issues raised.

“The Federation respects the important roles of FIVB, PSC, POC, and all relevant institutions in Philippine and international sport, and is prepared to engage constructively through the proper channels,” it said.

The FIVB earlier announced the suspension with immediate effect, citing “serious governance concerns” and alleged violations of its Code of Ethics. The decision was made by the FIVB Board of Administration in line with its disciplinary regulations.

According to the FIVB, an investigation by its independent Ethics Panel is ongoing.

The PNVF said it will work toward a “full understanding” of the case, including the process moving forward and its operational impact on Philippine volleyball.
