The Philippine National Police (PNP) has assured that any enforcement action related to Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa will strictly follow due process, legal mandates, and standard operational procedures, following recent developments involving an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant.
PNP leadership emphasized that the agency will carry out its duties in accordance with existing laws and protocols, amid confirmation from the Department of Justice that authorities may proceed with the execution of the warrant. The move comes after the Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking to block ICC-related proceedings against the former PNP chief.
Authorities said the PNP respects the justice system and guarantees fairness in handling the situation, regardless of political or institutional affiliations.
Security units, including maritime and aviation divisions, have reportedly been placed on alert to monitor possible exit points, while coordination efforts with relevant agencies are ongoing to ensure compliance with any legal directives.
DILG officials earlier stated that the entire PNP force stands ready to act upon instructions from the DOJ regarding the implementation of the warrant.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) also reported that it is tracking movements linked to the senator following his reported departure from the Senate premises, although operational details remain undisclosed as monitoring continues.
