Twenty of more than 100 firearms registered under Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa have been turned over to authorities following the revocation of his gun licenses earlier this year, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In a statement, the PNP said the firearms were surrendered on June 11 to the Civil Security Group Region 11 from the senator’s residence in Barangay Maa, Davao City.

“A total of 20 firearms were accounted for, properly recorded, and issued with corresponding acknowledgment receipts before being transported to the RCSU (Regional Civil Security Unit) 11 office at Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City,” the PNP said in a statement.

The PNP’s Firearms and Explosives Office had revoked Dela Rosa’s license to own and possess firearms, as well as the registration of 117 guns under his name, in May. The move came amid an International Criminal Court warrant for his arrest.

“They (the guns) are now under official custody for safekeeping in accordance with PNP rules and procedures,” it added.

“The process was conducted in an orderly manner, ensuring that all procedures were properly observed and fully documented,” the police said.
