Filipino forward Kevin Quiambao helped power the Goyang Sono Skygunners into the Korean Basketball League finals after a commanding 90-80 victory over the Changwon LG Sakers in Game 3 of their semifinals series on Monday, April 27.

Quiambao delivered a well-rounded performance with 17 points, seven assists, and six rebounds as the No. 5 seed Skygunners completed a stunning 3-0 sweep of the top-ranked LG Sakers, led by fellow Filipino import Carl Tamayo.

The win marks a historic run for Goyang Sono, becoming only the second No. 5 seed in KBL playoff history to reach the championship round.

The Skygunners were sharp from beyond the arc, knocking down 15 three-pointers as a team. Lee Jung-hyun matched Quiambao’s 17-point output, while Lee Geun-jun provided a major lift off the bench, hitting four triples to help seal the series.

With the upset complete, Goyang Sono now shifts its focus to the KBL finals, awaiting the winner of the other semifinal matchup between the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters and Busan KCC, which is currently tied at 1-1.

The Skygunners’ breakthrough campaign continues to build momentum, with Quiambao playing a central role in their unexpected championship run.
