More than 60 individuals were rescued by the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) during a curfew operation conducted near Sto. Niño de Tondo Parish on the night of January 13.
The operation was carried out by the MDSW Disaster Response Team in coordination with Moriones Police Station 2 as part of security and safety preparations for the upcoming parish feast.
MDSW Director Jay Reyes Dela Fuente said that most of those rescued were minors who violated the curfew. Of the 61 minors apprehended, three were allegedly found using solvent.
Authorities also apprehended one adult for solvent use during the operation.
All individuals were subsequently turned over to the Reception and Action Center (RAC) for proper processing and appropriate case disposition, according to MDSW.
