The NCR Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday resumed full alert status for the start of the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday, July 6.

Speaking to DZRH, NCRPO Director MGen. Anthony Aberin confirmed the heightened alert status, reported RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort.

At midnight on Friday, the heightened alert status due to the three-day Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) rally was lowered.

The Senate, where the impeachment trial is slated to take place, will be surrounded by around 6,000 police officers, said Philippine National Police (PNP) Public Information Chief PCol. Allen Rae Co.

The deployment is part of security preparations to ensure order during the high-profile proceeding, Co said.
