The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will deploy nearly 10,000 police personnel on Sunday to secure participants and maintain peace and order during the White Ribbon March at the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City.

In a statement on Saturday, the NCRPO said a total of 9,602 personnel have been strategically positioned across Metro Manila as part of a comprehensive security plan for the event.

"Full security is now in effect. With 9,602 NCRPO personnel strategically deployed across Metro Manila, a comprehensive security framework has been activated to preserve public order, safeguard every participant, and ensure the orderly conduct of the White Ribbon Movement," the NCRPO said.

The White Ribbon March is organized by religious and civil society groups advocating for electoral reforms and greater government accountability.

The initiative is being spearheaded by the Interreligious Leaders Council for National Transformation (IRCNT), which seeks to rally public support against corruption and political dynasties while calling for reforms in the country's political system.

Organizers expect the Metro Manila gathering to coincide with similar White Ribbon activities in other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Kidapawan Bishop Colin Bagaforo, chairperson of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Episcopal Commission on Interreligious Dialogue, earlier said politicians from any political party are welcome to join the march but will not be allowed to deliver speeches during the program.

Authorities have assured the public that security measures are in place to ensure the peaceful and orderly conduct of the event while protecting the rights of participants.
