The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has declared its investigation into the dumping of sacks of dead dogs and cats in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, closed, saying it has established cases against a pet crematorium and other individuals involved.
According to a report by RH Jecelle Ricafort, NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the bureau has completed its investigation into Ahjay Paws Aftercare Pet Crematorium, leaving the next steps to the Department of Justice (DOJ), which will conduct a preliminary investigation.
Matibag said the NBI would no longer summon the crematorium's owner, who has yet to respond or make contact with authorities.
“The part of the investigation tapos na ‘to, except yung mga gusto pang humabol na magkaso. Andiyan na yung kwento, kumbaga templated na, plot and play na lang tayo,” Matibag said.
However, he assured the public that the NBI would remain open to complaints from other individuals who may come forward in connection with the incident.
The bureau will also look into other pet crematoriums that may be engaged in similar schemes, Matibag said.
