All stations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) remain open and fully operational despite a rally held by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) at the EDSA People Power Monument, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.
The DOTr said all stations from North Avenue to Taft Avenue remained open to commuters, and train operations continued as normal despite the event.
“Despite the ongoing Iglesia ni Cristo rally at the EDSA People Power Monument, all MRT-3 stations—from North Avenue to Taft Avenue—remain open and fully operational to serve our commuters,” the DOTr-MRT-3 said in a statement.
“Our station personnel and security teams are fully deployed across the line to maintain order, ensure passenger safety, and keep operations running smoothly,” the DOTr-MRT-3 added.
The rally along EDSA drew thousands of participants, contributing to congestion in several key road sections across Metro Manila. Organizers said the gathering was held in support of Senator Rodante Marcoleta amid the filing of corruption-related charges against him.
The protest comes after Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla on Monday announced that his office is set to file plunder charges before the Sandiganbayan within the week.
The case stems from an alleged ₱75 million in undisclosed campaign contributions that were reportedly not declared in Marcoleta’s Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), forming part of the basis for the planned complaint.
