

A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck Balut Island in Sarangani, Davao Occidental at around 7:28 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Authorities said the tremor is an aftershock of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit the area on June 8.
PHIVOLCS reported varying intensities across affected areas. Reported intensity IV was felt in Sarangani, Davao Occidental, while intensity III was recorded in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental. Intensity I was also reported in General Santos City
Instrumental data showed intensity II in General Santos City, and intensity I in Malapatan and Malungon in Sarangani, Tupi in South Cotabato, Santa Maria in Davao Occidental, and Digos City in Davao del Sur.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were released as authorities continue to monitor aftershocks in the region.
