International star Liza Soberano, veteran singer Lea Salonga, and Filipino-American singer-songwriter H.E.R. will be leading the voice cast of DreamWork’s feature film coming September next year.
Alongside the three Filipina women are Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto, and Jenny Slate, who will also be voicing characters in “Forgotten Island,” to be released by Universal Studios on September 25, 2026.
The animated adventure-fantasy movie follows the story of best friends Jo (H.E.R.) and Raissa (Liza) who wind up stranded on the magical island of Nakali, based off Philippine mythology. To go home, they may have to leave behind the memories they share.
This movie marks the third collaboration between Joel Crawford and Mark Swift, who worked on the Oscar-nominated 2022 film “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.” Meanwhile, Januel Mercado will be making his directorial debut after being co-director on Last Wish.
