Several personalities from the film industry, including fellow actors and actresses, paid tribute to the late Sue Prado.
The actress’ sudden passing caused great loss for the Philippine entertainment industry. In memory of Prado, several celebrities remembered her craft, and moral compass.
League of Filipino Actors (Aktor PH) honored Prado’s talent and craft in a social media post.
“In her craft, in her relationships, to her family and in life, Sue’s north star has always been her commitment to truth,” the league captioned.
“We will miss you, kapatid. The industry has lost one of its brightest tonight. Fly high, Sue. Into the light of the dark black night,” it added.
Fellow celebrities like Nikki Valdez, Pokwang, and Iza Calzado offered prayers to the late actress.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Kip Oebanda shared a series of Instagram Stories, expressing how much he admires and loves Prado. In one story, he wished that Prado’s death was just a nightmare, recalling how he saw the actress just last week.
“Matapang, may prinsipyo, one of the best actresses this country ever had. Too early. Too sudden. ‘Di ko kaya,” he wrote.
In a separate post, Oebanda recalled how making the pandemic film with Prado and other celebs helped him survive.
“Since 2022, you have always been my gold standard, my moral compass and my north star in this industry,” he wrote.
He added how they were discussing grief last week, referencing Prado’s character in the film “Liway,” with the latter stating that grief is never linear or predictable.
“You were not just an actress to me, you were one of the most principled, sincere, passionate and loving people I have ever known and in this industry this is rare. You were like family to me. Until I breathe my last breath, I will miss you, Sue,” Oebanda ended.
Actor Elijah Canlas, who played Prado’s son in the series “Gameboys,” posted three broken heart emojis on X.
Cedrick Juan also recalled how easy it was working with Prado.
“Sobrang professional at makatao sa lahat. Nakakagulat naman ito ng sobra,” he wrote. “Maraming nagmamahal sayo. Mahigpit na pagyakap sa lahat ng mas malalapit pang kaibigan at kapamilya.”
Meanwhile, Mercedes Cabral simply wrote, “Araw araw. Lagi lagi toots.”
On Wednesday, April 15, Prado’s sister, May Shereen, confirmed the actress’ passing. She was 44.
“Sue brought light in anyone’s path throughout her life. A life lived for others, for the craft she nourished and for those who she loved most,” her sister wrote. “Please celebrate her in any way you know how, and honor her memory through kindness.”
