Actress Kim Chiu said there are still details she has chosen not to disclose publicly regarding the legal case involving her sister, Lakam Chiu, amid an ongoing legal process.

In a statement, Kim said she is deeply hurt by the situation but declined to discuss certain matters because the case is still being handled through the legal system.

“What my legal team and I have filed covers ONLY the period from January to July of 2025. There is so much more to this story that I am choosing not to disclose publicly,” Chiu said.

The actress said the case involves a business established in 2023 that she helped build with the intention of becoming part of her future after she leaves show business.

She stressed that the case was not about her personal money but concerned the business and its right to protect its interests and seek accountability through legal channels.

“There is so much I am choosing not to say right now. Not because I do not have a story to tell, but because there is a proper time and place for the truth,” she said.

Chiu filed a qualified theft case involving alleged financial discrepancies amounting to about 44.4 million pesos in a company in which she and her sister are stakeholders.

Lakam Chiu, 45, was arrested Sunday, Sept. 20, in Barangay Wack Wack, Mandaluyong City, by the Quezon City Police District following a warrant issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 84.

The QCPD identified Lakam as the No. 6 most wanted person of Kamuning Police Station, or Police Station 10, in an announcement posted online.

Reports said the actress filed 124 counts of qualified theft against her sister.

Kim Chiu further said she will allow the legal process to take its course.

“For now, I trust and let the legal process take its course,” she said.
