Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as he continues to receive treatment for pneumonia, his daughter confirmed.
“My father, Juan Ponce Enrile, remains in the ICU where he is currently being treated for pneumonia,” his daughter Katrina Enrile said in a statement.
“He is under the dedicated care of his attending physicians and medical staff, who are providing him with the best possible treatment and attention,” she added.
Katrina also expressed gratitude to the public for their concern, prayers, and support during this challenging time.
Enrile’s condition was mentioned during the Senate plenary session on Tuesday, after Senator Jinggoy Estrada, citing a “very reliable source,” said the 101-year-old former senator was in the ICU and had “slim chances of surviving.”
The Senate then offered a short prayer for Enrile, led by Senator Joel Villanueva.
