Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to pneumonia and has “slim chances of surviving,” Senator Jinggoy Estrada announced during the Senate Session on Tuesday, November 11.

“Our former colleague, former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of an undisclosed hospital suffering from pneumonia. I heard from…a very, very reliable source that he has slim chances of surviving,” he announced.

Following this, the senator asked his colleagues to offer a prayer for the 101-year-old Enrile, led by Senator Joel Villanueva.

Enrile’s family has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
