'Hoy Gising!'
This was the response of Malacañang on Tuesday to claims that the administration has neglected the investigation into alleged flood control anomalies, assuring the public that the probe is still ongoing.
During the press conference, Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro pushed back on reports suggesting that the government had forgotten the issue, defending the work of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) and stressing that cases are still moving forward.
She emphasized that the ongoing probes by the Ombudsman and DOJ aim to hold accountable those involved in the alleged flood control scam.
The ICI is set to cease operations today, March 31, concluding nearly six months of activity and leaving its staff without jobs.
Despite its closure, the government maintains that the investigation into flood control anomalies will continue through the Ombudsman and the DOJ.
