The House of Representatives suspended work on Thursday, August 6, due to inclement weather brought by the Tropical Storm (TS) Maymay and the southwest monsoon, or habagat.

The suspension was implemented following Memorandum Circular No. 122 issued by the Office of the President on August 5, which ordered the suspension of work in government offices in areas affected by the inclement weather.

The advisory noted that “offices performing essential functions are expected to ensure the continued delivery of critical services.”

The House leadership said the suspension is part of its efforts to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of all employees.

“All personnel are advised to take necessary precautions, stay safe, and prepare essential supplies during this period,” the House said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) earlier warned of moderate to heavy rainfall in several parts of the country due to TS Maymay and habagat.
