Former colleagues in the media visited the grave of late DZRH reporter RH 29 Boy Gonzales on Sunday, November 1, to pay tribute to him in observance of Undas 2026.
The visitors fondly remembered Gonzales' cheerful personality, energy, and dedication to his work, particularly during Undas coverage, which they previously covered together.
One of his former colleagues recalled that this year's Undas was the first time they had to conduct their coverage without Gonzales, highlighting his commitment to his assignments despite the intense heat and physical exhaustion.
“Napakamasayahin ni Boy. […] Grabe ang dedication niya sa trabaho. Kahit mainit, hindi niya ininda ang init ng araw. Talagang trabaho siya,” the colleague shared.
The colleague also left a heartfelt message, asking Gonzales to continue guiding them in their work while fondly remembering their time together.
“Pahinga ka lang diyan. Gabayan mo kami. Yung mga hindi pa namin alam sa media, sa coverage, turuan mo kami. Pero huwag ka magpapakita sa amin ah,” the colleague added.
Gonzales, who passed away at the age of 66 on May 11, 2026, was laid to rest at the Manila North Cemetery on May 17, following funeral rites attended by his family, friends, and fellow members of the media community.
A longtime DZRH reporter, Gonzales was widely recognized for his extensive coverage of the Manila beat and public affairs, leaving behind a legacy of service in Philippine broadcast journalism.
