Veteran broadcast journalist Misael “Boy” Gonzales Jr., a longtime reporter of DZRH, was laid to rest on Sunday, May 17, at the Manila North Cemetery in the capital city.

At around 10:00 a.m., Gonzales was brought to his final resting place and interred at the Manila North Cemetery, following funeral rites attended by family, friends, and members of the media community.

Colleagues from DZRH and fellow journalists gathered to pay their last respects, with many expressing grief and honoring Gonzales’ decades-long contribution to Philippine broadcast journalism.

Supporters and media workers also extended condolences as tributes poured in for the veteran reporter.

Gonzales, who passed away at the age of 66 on May 11, was widely known for his extensive coverage of Manila beat reporting and public affairs. He was remembered by peers as a dedicated journalist who spent decades delivering news and serving the public through radio broadcasting.

His burial marks the end of a respected career in Philippine journalism, leaving behind a legacy of commitment to truth-telling and public service.
