Alex Eala will meet Filipino fans during a homecoming event on July 15 at the Glorietta Activity Center, as the rising tennis star takes a short break before shifting her focus to the hardcourt season and the U.S. Open.

The fan meet, organized by Globe Telecom, comes on the heels of Eala’s breakthrough campaign at Wimbledon, where the 21-year-old made history as the first Filipino to be seeded in the tournament at No. 29.

Eala advanced to the Round of 16, marking her deepest run in a Grand Slam, before bowing out to Italy’s Jasmine Paolini. Her performance on grass further boosted her standing on the women’s tour and underscored her emergence as one of the sport’s promising young players.

After her brief stop in Manila, Eala is set to resume training for the North American swing. She is also entered in the WTA 1000 National Bank Open in Toronto, where she is expected to compete as a seeded player and receive a first-round bye.

The homecoming event is expected to draw strong support from local fans eager to celebrate Eala’s milestone achievements and send her off as she prepares for another stretch on the international stage.
