Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday called President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ungrateful to the Filipino people who elected him, as she urged supporters to continue demanding his resignation.

Duterte made the remarks while addressing supporters gathered outside Quezon City Hall on Sept. 11, after her arraignment on a grave threats case before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 98 was deferred.

“Wala siyang utang na loob sa taong bayan. Wala siyang utang na loob sa lahat na pumunta ng prisinto para iluklok siya sa pwesto,” Duterte said.

She also accused the president of abuse and urged Filipinos to continue calling for his resignation.

“Patuloy tayong manawagan ng paglayas ng problema ng ating bayan na ang pangalan ay Bongbong Marcos,” she said.

“Resign! Umalis ka dyan! Sinungaling ka, abusado ka!” the vice president added.

Duterte said she could not leave or remain silent because she had seen Filipinos struggling with floods and hardship while providing for their families.

“Mahal ko kayo. Hindi ko magawang umalis. Hindi ko magawang tumahimik na lamang,” she said.

She also criticized Marcos over what she described as abuses committed under his administration.

Duterte further called on her supporters to continue fighting against what she described as abusive, drug-dependent and corrupt individuals.

The vice president's remarks came after her scheduled arraignment on the grave threats case did not proceed because the court was still considering a motion, according to one of her lawyers.
