Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic was crowned Miss World 2026 during the 73rd edition of the international pageant held Saturday, September 5, at 2/4 Square in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Dominguez emerged victorious after advancing to the final stage from an initial field of 111 candidates and outshining five other finalists in the final question-and-answer round.
During the final round, she was asked which Beauty With a Purpose cause she had supported in her country and how she would improve it if crowned Miss World.
Dominguez highlighted her advocacy of bringing English-language programs to children in vulnerable communities, emphasizing education as a tool for creating opportunities.
“My Beauty With a Purpose is to take English programs to kids in vulnerable communities, because I believe that when they know this language, the opportunities, the doors that can open to their life, it's huge, big doors,” Dominguez said.
She added that providing the children with the ability to communicate in English would give them a valuable tool they could use throughout their lives.
Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés Alaber finished as second placer, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty secured third place. Vietnam’s Lê Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc, South Africa’s Romanda Hombir, and Eritrea’s Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin completed the Top 6.
The Philippines’ Asia Rose Simpson finished in the Top 12 after advancing to the continental round as one of the Top 2 representatives of Asia and Oceania.
Dominguez succeeds Miss World 2025 Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand.
For the Philippines, Megan Young remains the country’s only Miss World titleholder after making history as the first Filipina to win the crown in 2013.
