Authorities continue to investigate the explosion caused by a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) outside the Department of Justice (DOJ) building in Manila early Monday morning.

In a report by DZRH reporter Tina Nolasco, as of 1 p.m., the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Forensic Chemistry Division, together with the Manila Police District (MPD), remains at the scene conducting examinations and gathering evidence to determine the source and circumstances behind the blast.

The explosion occurred near the DOJ entrance along Padre Faura Street, Ermita, Manila at around 12:17 a.m. No injuries or casualties were reported, but two vehicles parked nearby sustained damage due to the impact of the blast.

Among the affected vehicles were two Toyota Innova units — one black and one silver — which suffered damage following the explosion.

The NBI forensic team continues to process evidence from the area where the suspected IED detonated, while authorities review available information to identify those responsible. The DOJ assured that the compound remains secure and that the situation is under control as the investigation continues.
