

The Department of Education (DepEd) General Trias City, Cavite, assured the public that immediate coordination and intervention measures were undertaken following a reported violent incident involving learners inside a private school on Tuesday, June 16.
In an official statement, DepEd confirmed that it has worked closely with school officials, the local government unit (LGU), and law enforcement agencies, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), and barangay authorities, to ensure the safety and welfare of the students involved and to support an ongoing investigation.
“This Office hereby issues its official statement concerning the reported incident that has recently come to our attention,” DepEd General Trias said.
It added that all necessary actions were promptly initiated in coordination with concerned stakeholders to ensure a “thorough, impartial, and expeditious investigation,” while prioritizing learner protection and safety.
The agency also stressed that child protection protocols are being strictly observed, in line with applicable legal and administrative procedures.
“We wish to assure the public that all applicable legal and administrative processes with main reference to Child Protection Policy are being observed, with due regard for the rights, privacy, and best interests of the learners concerned,” the statement read.
DepEd further urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information as the matter remains under investigation and advised reliance on official updates only.
The statement comes following reports of a stabbing incident that injured seven Grade 5 students inside a private school in Cavite.
