Six more firearms voluntarily surrendered by the camp of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa are now under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
According to the PNP, the additional firearms were turned over by the senator’s legal representative from his listed address in Silang, Cavite.
The weapons were subsequently submitted to the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office through the Regional Civil Security Unit in CALABARZON, as reported by RH Edniel Parrosa.
With the latest handover, authorities now have a total of 26 out of the 117 firearms registered under dela Rosa’s name following the revocation of his license to own and possess firearms and gun registrations.
The revocation came amid a manhunt linked to a warrant of arrest issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Earlier records showed that dela Rosa held a Type 5 License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF), which allowed him to own 15 or more firearms as a registered collector.
Under Republic Act 10591, individuals who have been convicted or are facing a pending criminal case carrying a penalty of more than two years imprisonment are disqualified from owning firearms.
