Filipino celebrity Billy Crawford has been crowned the winner of Season 9 of Mask Singer France, capping eight weeks of mystery and high-energy performances under an elaborate disguise.
Crawford, who performed as the Donkey character, identified as costume number eight, impressed both judges and viewers throughout the competition with his vocal range and stage presence.
His victory adds to a growing list of international achievements for the Filipino-American entertainer.
The win follows Crawford’s earlier triumph in Danse avec les stars in 2022, further solidifying his popularity in France and across Europe.
In an Instagram post after the finale, Crawford described the experience as “absolutely amazing,” thanking the show’s production team for maintaining secrecy around his identity and praising costume designers for their work behind the scenes.
He also expressed gratitude to fans who supported him during the competition.
“To everyone who voted for me, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he wrote.
Crawford shared that his Donkey character, known as “L’Ane,” held personal meaning, saying he chose it with his son, Amari Crawford, in mind.
“I figured if he loved it, everyone else would too,” he added.
Crawford concluded his message by thanking God for the opportunity and strength to compete and ultimately win the show.
